NEWS: Atmosphere 04 will be out soon!!

長らくお待たせしました、アトモスフィアの最新号『Atmosphere 04 Spring/Summer 07』が遂にリリースされます！
今号のテーマは”Feel the ATMOSPHERE’s atmosphere”。これまでアトモスフィアが提案してきた「世界」を再び感じてもらいたいと考え、ウェブや映像の世界では伝わらない、グラフィックデザインの楽しさ、面白さ、美しさなどを紙メディアで再認識してもらう一冊にしました。ただ作品を羅列するだけではなく、アトモスフィアならではのオリジナルアートワークや、ロングインタビューなどを収録することによって、他ではみることができない、感じることができない「ATMOSPHERE」の世界を表現しました。
The long-awaited release of the latest ATMOSPHERE MAGAZINE, “Atmosphere 04 Spring/Summer 07″ will be finally coming out!
The current issue’s theme is “Feel the ATMOSPHERE’s Atmosphere”. It is our hope to create an issue that will make you reaffirm how fun, fascinating and beautiful graphic design is. In this issue, you will find original art works and long interview so you can indulge in contents special to the printed medium of Atmosphere you won’t find or experience anywhere else.

特集1は世界的に影響力を持つフォトグラファーであり、またSHOWstudioというファッションやアート関連のプロジェクトをネット上から発信するウェブサイトの創始者でもあるニック・ナイトのロングインタビュー。彼がフォトグラファーになるまで、SHOWstudioの設立、現在の計画、そして将来について聞き、人間性や制作の背景を深く掘り下げました。
Feature #1 is the interview with Nick Knight who is the world’s most influential photographer as well as director & founder of SHOWstudio the fashion & art internet broadcasting channel. Atmosphere interviews about his formative years until being a photographer, and the inception of SHOWstudio and his plans for the future. We went deeper into his humanity and the project background.

特集2は今、アトモスフィアが注目しているデザイン/アートディレクションの領域で活躍する4組のアーティストを作品やインタビューと共に紹介。そして今回はこの号のために各アーティストにオリジナルのアートワークを作ってもらいました。

In the feature #2, we will introduce the newest and talented artists/designers out there, and show their interviews and original artworks created by each artist for this issue. These 4 artists are flourished in the field of design and art direction.

そして特集3は「GASBOOK NEW」。アーティストの表現基盤として、その時々に形を変えつつ10年以上出版されてきたGASBOOKは今、新しい表現の基盤となる自由なメディアとして新たな一歩を踏み出そうとしています。今年、Calm & Punk Galleryにて開催される「GASBOOK NEW（仮）」と題したエキシビジョンにて、様々なアーティストたちの考える未来のGASBOOKがアートピースとして展示・販売されます。そして今回アトモスフィアでは、その参加アーティストの一部を紹介します。

Finally, the feature #3 is “GASBOOK NEW”. For more than ten years, the Gasbook series has provided an opportunity for artists to express themselves and showcase their work. Now, in 2007, Gasbook has reached a turning point.
Gasbook has shed all boundaries of form and is presenting itself as an exhibition entitled ‘GASBOOK NEW,’ at the Calm & Punk Gallery, Tokyo. The form of Gasbook is now shaped by the minds and imaginations of the artists involved. ‘GASBOOK NEW (tentative)’ will show work by various artists, with pieces available for purchase. In this issue of Atmosphere, we are introducing some of the artists participating in the exhibition.

The magazine will be available at GAS online shop from April 20th (Fri).

スイスのクリエイティブティーム「//DIY」の手がけるブランド「+41」から今度はナイキの定番スニーカー「Air Force 1」の形のチョコレートが発売されました。
これはナイキのAir Force 1の25周年を祝って作られたもので、これまではナイキのみでしかデリバリーされていなかったのですが、ついに＋41のウェブサイトから購入可能になりました！また、もうすぐコレットでも販売されるそうです。
食べるのがもったいないけど、コレクター心をくるぐるアイテムです。
“+41” which is a brand produced by Swiss creative team //DIY has launched Chocolate Product. Nike’s standard product, Air Force 1 in white chocolate!
This is created for celebrating 25th anniversary of Nike Air Force 1. Until now only Nike has been delivered with this product but today it’s available for everyone on a website of ＋41! This product will be soon available at Colette, Paris.
It is too good-looking to eat and surely capture collector’s heart.

EVENT: Daisuke Nagaoka work shop

4/21（土）、22（日）にアーティストの永岡大輔さんが横浜の野毛山動物園でワークショップを開催します。
飼育係さんから動物のお話を聞いて、「ものがたり」を創造して描くお絵描きワークショップのイメージづくりを永岡さんがお手伝いします。普段は入れないところに潜入する極秘ツアーも敢行されるかも！？
また永岡さんはこのワークショップ以外にも「マンスリーアートカフェ」にて”動物とアート”をテーマにアーティストと動物の奇想天外な出会いに迫るトークショーにも参加されます。
これらは横浜のNPOが主催するアートイベント「坂のはるまつり」の催しのひとつで、他にもフリーマーケットやパフォーマンスなど楽しげな催しが予定されていますので、みなさま是非お誘い合わせの上、春の野毛山にお出かけしてみではいかがでしょうか。

EVENT: Caperino & Peperone “A Round World”

2007年4月11日（水）から24日（火）まで、伊勢丹新宿店にてKuntzel+Deygasの生み出した2匹の犬のキャラクター「カペリーノ＆ペペローネ」（キャップ＆ペップ）をコンセプトにしたエキシビジョン「A Round World」が開催されます。
キャップ＆ペップが“世界を旅する”をテーマに様々なブランドとコラボレーションした限定アイテムが販売される他にも、新宿店のショーウィンドウ及び店内ディスプレイにも登場して、あちらこちらで2匹のやんちゃな姿が見れます。

An exhibition,”A Round World”is being held at Isetan,Shinjuku from 2007,April 11 to 24th. It is on the concept of 2dogs-charactor, Caperino & Peperone designed by Kuntzel+Deygas.
They sell limited collaborated items with various brands under the theme, “Caperino & Peperone travel the world”, besides you can find these 2 impish dogs all over the place in a show window in Shinjuku or you can see the displayed one in the store.

NEWS: TRAVELING GAS SHOP in Sydney

旅するデザインショップ、TRAVELING GAS SHOPが今度は海外に旅立ちました。行き先はオーストラリアのシドニー。
シドニーにて3/30、31の2日間開催に渡って開催されたデザインカンファレンス「Semi-Permanent」にてブースを出展しました。
TRAVELING GAS SHOP went to overseas! It is now in Sydney in Australia.
We exhibited a booth at design conference “Semi-Permanent” for 2 days from March 30th and 31st.

その後、4/1〜4/30までは同じくシドニーのVia AlleyというショップにてTRAVELING GAS SHOP at Via Alleyが開催中です。
